Overview
Yay You is a private iOS app for sending encouragement to people you know. This policy explains what information Yay You processes, why it is needed, and the choices available to you.
Yay You does not sell personal information, show ads, or track you across apps and websites owned by other companies.
Information we process
Yay You processes the information you provide when using the app:
- Your display name, time zone, and a randomly generated installation identifier.
- Your Apple account identifier if you choose Sign in with Apple. Yay You does not receive your Apple password.
- Private-circle details, including circle names, invite codes, and memberships.
- Content you choose to send, such as messages, edited affirmation text, reactions, reports, photos, and selfies.
- A short description and tone you provide when asking Yay You Magic to generate a card, plus the generated illustration and suggested message.
- Safety choices, including people you block and content you report.
- Subscription entitlement information supplied by Apple. Yay You does not receive your complete payment-card details.
The service may also process limited technical logs needed to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the app. Yay You does not use these logs for advertising or cross-app tracking.
How information is used
Information is used only to provide and protect Yay You, including to:
- Create your profile and private circles.
- Deliver content to the people you invite.
- Enforce the free daily visual allowance and unlock Plus features.
- Generate Magic illustrations and suggested affirmations, and enforce the daily generation allowance.
- Show the latest content in the Yay You widget.
- Process reports, apply blocks, prevent abuse, and respond to support requests.
- Maintain reliability, diagnose errors, and protect the service from misuse.
Sharing
Content you send is shared with members of the circle you selected. Invite codes should be shared only with people you want in that circle.
Yay You uses these service providers:
- Cloudflare hosts the API and database used to deliver account and circle content.
- Apple provides Sign in with Apple, App Store subscriptions, and StoreKit purchase status.
- OpenRouter receives Magic requests from Yay You’s server and routes them to the selected text and image-generation models. Text requests are configured to disallow provider data collection. Image requests are subject to the selected provider’s data policy; they do not have the same per-request opt-out control.
Only the description, selected tone, and technical data needed to fulfill and protect a Magic request are sent to the AI providers; private-circle history, contacts, and unrelated photos are not included. Do not put highly sensitive personal information in an AI card description. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies. Yay You does not provide personal information to data brokers or advertising networks.
Storage and retention
Account and user content are stored on Yay You’s Cloudflare-hosted service and transmitted using HTTPS. Content remains available until it is deleted, the associated account is deleted, or it is removed for safety or legal reasons. Limited residual copies may remain temporarily in provider backups and operational logs before expiring under normal retention cycles.
Your controls
You can report a post, block a person, delete a post you sent, or sign out from the app. You can permanently delete your account from You → Delete account. Account deletion removes your profile, posts, stored photos, reactions, reports, memberships, blocks, and active sessions. A shared circle may remain for its other members, but your content and membership are removed.
You can also request privacy help by emailing Aiden.Arnold@me.com.
Children
Yay You is a general-audience app, is not offered in the App Store Kids Category, and is not intended for children under 13. You must be at least 13 to create an account. If the law where you live requires a higher minimum age to consent to data processing, you may use Yay You only when a parent or guardian has provided the consent required by that law. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information, contact us so it can be removed.
Security
Yay You uses access-controlled private circles, authenticated media links, HTTPS transport, reporting, blocking, and server-side safety checks. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so keep invite codes private and report anything that feels unsafe.
International processing
Cloudflare may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, service providers use contractual and technical safeguards for international transfers.
Changes
This policy may be updated as Yay You changes. The current version and its effective date will remain available on this page.
